Beastie

You're probably wondering how I was able to write these when I was stranded, well, long story short. My dad's an inventor, boom! Solar powered laptop, heavy and inconvenient, yet convenient in this situation. Anyways, it was beginning to get hectic. There was lots of silent arguing between Ralph and Mean Merridew, and the tension was beginning to take a toll on everyone, especially when the talk of a beast came about. We were at assembly when the little boy with the mulberry birthmark, was urged forward by his friends. Piggy insisted on letting the little boy hold the conch shell. The little boy looked around, frightened, as the others were urging him to speak up. He held his hands out to the conch. The assembly erupted in laughter and the little boy quickly retreated his hands and began to cry. I shouted over the others, telling them to let him speak. I got a few responses along the lines of: "You're not the chief." or "Shut up girl." Then Piggy Shouted, "Let him have the conch!" The little boy no longer wanted to talk, so Piggy, with his hand on the shell, spoke what the boy wanted to say.

Piggy said he was asking about what we were planning to do about the snake-thing, Ralph led more laughter on, and insisted that he tell him more about the snake. The little boy then said that it was a beastie, and Ralph became curious. A beastie? Even I was a bit confused. Piggy then proceeded to say: "A snake-thing, ever so big. He saw it." And Ralph questioned where he could have possibly seen this "beastie"Then Piggy spoke what the boy told him.
 "In the woods."

Ralph became annoyed, and insisted that there was no beast. But he did not yet realize, that the beast inside of us, was soon to come out. Talk of rescue was mentioned in the assembly. Ralph explained that we needed a fire, because that would help the ships locate us, and instantly, half of the boys and Jack were up on their feet. Jack yelled that they must follow him,  and then the center was erupted in noise. And then the entire crowd was following Jack, even the littleluns, which I tried to stop. They didn't listen, then three were left. Ralph, Piggy, and I, stood in the center. Ralph clutching to the conch.

"Acting like a bunch of kids!" Piggy exclaimed and looked towards ralph in disgust as he walked off towards the others. Then Piggy and I stood in the center, and we were alone.
